In May 2014, after a six year partnership with Robert and Catrina Cormell, Edgar and Yvonne Miles took over complete ownership of The Bagel Shops. The Cormells decided to devote their time with full-time ministry work and we continue to wish them the best. In the fall of 2014, The Bagel Shop opened its first location on Fort Bliss. Almost a year later, a second location was added. The Miles couldn't be more happy and hornored to be able to serve the Military personnel and their families with our two new locations. Edgar divides his time between all locations, meeting and talking to customers, new and old, and sometimes playing chess with a faithful patron and veteran at our westside location. Yvonne is involved in organizing events and promotions in and out of El Paso.
Aurora Ramirez is our manager at The Bagel Shop at the N. Mesa location. She has been with The Bagel Shop since its conception, sixteen years ago! WOW! Where did the time go! Her efficiency and sweet personality is a big plus to all who come to the N. Mesa location. When not working, she enjoys cooking and crafting new things.
Idali Ruiz is our manager at The Bagel Shop at the Ft. Bliss Mendoza Clinic Bldg. 11335. With this being our newest location, Idali brings her six years of expreience with The Bagel Shop to a level of quick and efficient service. She too enjoys serving the military personnel and their families at the Mendoza Clinic location. She enjoys exercising, and is striving to become healthier. Way to go Idali! She loves spending time with her two daughters, and is a proud grandmother of four grandchildren.
William Turner has been with The Bagel Shop from its conception in September 1996. He has created the recipes for all the delicious bagels and baked goods that are served today. A family background surrounded by chefs and bakers, it's no wonder that Willliam began baking at the age of 14 and became a professional Chef at the age of 19. Some of his family members were affiliated with the Little Debbie Corporation. With an educational career in French cuisine from "Rene' Chez Vous in Torrance, CA, William was hired as an executive Chef at Gerard's French Restraurant and twelve years later, continued mastering his skills with the Rene' Chez Vous Restaurant as Executive Chef for a few years. As he started a family he moved from California to work as Executive Chef in Providence, RI, at the Rhode Island Country Club managing banquets and weddings. Years later he accepted a manager position in El Paso, TX managing banquets at the El Paso Convention Center, eventually becoming our talented baker at The Bagel Shop. William's interests and hobbies besides cooking and baking include Coin Collecting and Trading Cards (Baseball & Football). He is a dedicated family man and loves to cook for his family, especially his famous juicy turkey and homemade stuffing!
